RT Kendall, a Christian writer, speaker, and teacher who pastored Westminster Chapel in London for 25 years, came to speak to staff and students at Summit on a variety of topics including a subject near and dear to his heart, total forgiveness.
Kendall spent several hours, first speaking with students and then with faculty, on the topic of forgiveness. We were blessed by his insight, wisdom, simplicity, and humility. During his time in chapel, he gently reminded us that if we want to be truly used of God, we need to live a life free from resentment. “Anointing comes from total forgiveness, when you are free from bitterness.” He used illustrations from his own life, always pointing us back to Christ and the finished work of the cross. Forgiveness is a topic he knows well, and in the end, we couldn’t help but feel as if we were being handed the keys to a very important secret.
RT Kendall is a man full of wisdom, without pretense, a noted theologian with a common touch. We were challenged, encouraged, and drawn closer to Jesus. We look forward to having him visit us again soon!
