Awarded to talented young people who are at risk due to economic or other circumstances. The recipients of this scholarship opportunity display a heart to be involved in ministry and serve others but may not have the financial means to further their education. All TSC awarded scholarship recipients are asked to serve as a summer volunteer for four weeks or be willing to commit to 6 hours per week of volunteer give back time during the school year; failure to give back volunteer hours could result in partial loss of scholarship.

To qualify, applicants must demonstrate substantial financial need. An interview with qualified applicants may be requested. To demonstrate substantial financial need, applicants must provide: a copy of most recent W-2 (if applicable), a copy of most recent paystub (if applicable), a copy of most recent W-2 for anyone providing substantial support to the applicant, and any other financial documentation to prove claims made in the Essay (bank statements, loan or mortgage documents, etc.)

Awarded to international students who attend Summit on an F-1 student visa. Students with outstanding personal recommendations and good academic standing may apply.

To be eligible, applicants must: be an international student (F-1 visa), and provide two outstanding personal recommendations (from non-relatives) highlighting exemplary Christian character. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or above (or a B average equivalent).

Criteria

This scholarship is awarded in memory of Paul Stepanian, a man who loved the Lord and his family. Paul excelled in athletics and loved coaching and mentoring youth. He was a talented musician and believed, before he died, that the Lord was drawing him to lead children’s praise and worship. In honoring Paul, this scholarship is offered to students who have a passion to coach and mentor youths through sports and/or are musically inclined to lead young people in worship. Applicants who are called to ministry, in spite of physical limitations or health challenges, are also encouraged to apply.
